Yes!  Acupuncture is a form of holistic medicine that has been around for centuries.  Clinical cases have found very few, if any, negative side effects.

2) How long does treatment take?
The first session is typically the longest, lasting 45 to 60 minutes.  This time typically includes time for the physician to get to know your animal and decide on the best acupoints to target.  Follow-up sessions are generally shorter, between 20 to 45 minutes.
3) How long until I can expect results?
Often, we see some changes in the first treatment.  However, 3 to 5 treaments are typically needed to start seeing improvement in chronic conditions.
4) How many treatments are needed?
The number of treatments required to address your pet's condition will vary depending on the type and severity of problem being treated.   However, a typical course of treatment involves 6 treatments.  Treatments can be performed daily, weekly, or monthly depending on your pet's individual needs.
5) Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture involves the use of extremely fine needles, that rarely hurt.  The width of an acupuncture needle can be compared to the width of a hair.  Less than 5% of patients experience discomfort during acupuncture treatment.  In fact, many animals will fall asleep during acupuncture due to the relaxing effect of the treatment.
